Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
In Synchronize directories window,
After selecting directories to compare, then clicking Compare,
While waiting for comparison to finish,
I click the control in the window frame (upper left corner "-") to hide the directory, and it disappears as it should.
But I can find no way to restore that window to view after comparison is finished.
It cannot be previewed under the task bar icon, and selected from there.
It does not appear in Task Manager or "Details" within the Task manager.
The Total Commander main window remains locked.
Task manager shows significant Total Commander disk activity while Comparison is running while hidden.
Task manager shows no disk activity later, when Comparison is apparently finished.
Results of comparison cannot be displayed or acted upon.
Apparently the only option available is end the task and start over.
Is this a bug, or am I overlooking some way to restore the Synchronize directories window?
If the window should not be hidden then why does it support the Hide control?

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
I cannot reproduce that. Can you give me more information, like the used TC version, 32-bit or 64-bit, and the used Windows version?
When I minimize the synchronize tool, I only need to click on the Total Commander icon in the taskbar to restore both Total Commander and the synchronize tool together. This works both while the comparison is still going on, and when it's done.

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
Maybe it's a similiar "problem" to what I am experiencing sometimes.
System: Win10 21H1 (19043.1586) and TC 10.00 x64
Starting the synchronize tool, selecting 2 folders on different drives, starting the comparison (of ~200.000 folders with ~500-600.000 files) and then doing nothing.
At the end of the comparison - sometimes - the window of the synchronize tool disappears in the moment it should show the result.
I then do an Alt-Tab to bring the TC window in "front " again and now the window of the synchronize tool appears with the result of the comparision and I can go on.
This does not happen every time but regularly.
Thinking about it I would say the more differences are found by the comparison the likelier the "problem" comes up.

I have experienced this too, but with Windows 7.Starting the synchronize tool, selecting 2 folders on different drives, starting the comparison (of ~200.000 folders with ~500-600.000 files) and then doing nothing.

For about 74 000 directories, 200 000 files behaviour is 100% reproducible

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
I'm really sorry but I still cannot reproduce this problem. There must be a very specific condition triggering it, and so far I have never met that condition.

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
I'm still trying to reproduce this problem, unfortunately without any success so far.
So far none of the bug reporters described which options they used when comparing, e.g. with subdirs or not, by content or not etc.
It would be very helpful to get more information.

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
I wouldn't call it a bug, for me it's kind of inconvenient, but I can live with it.
And maybe it's a mixture of gpu-driver version, background-tasks or the like.
My settings are:
search filter: *.*
empty directories: yes
asymmetric: yes
subdirs: yes
by content: no
ignore date: no
show: all active except equal files
duplicates: yes
singles: yes
My path-length can exceed 240 characters.
GPU-driver: AMD Radeon 22.4.1
Anti-Virus old: Kaspersky Internet Security 21 (latest version), till february 2022, problem occured sometimes
Anti-Virus new: Eset Internet Security 15, since february 2022, problem did not occure till now
Edit 1:
One-more thing: GUI is german.
Edit 2:
Just ran a sync and ... the problem occured again.
Strange.

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
Thanks, I will make some more tests. Btw, how many files are found in the comparison, and how long does it take?

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
So far I was only able to reproduce one problem: When I minimized and restored the sync dialog while it was still reading folders, it once didn't restore immediately, only when the directory reading was complete. So far this only happened once.

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
That would be very helpful because I could not reproduce the problem myself, but tried to fix it anyway...

Re: Synchronize directories window cannot be restored after hiding
Used b5 and b6 and until now the hiding-probblem did not occur again.
Btw. the comparison seems to run a bit faster than before.
And one other thing: While the comparison runs the number of folders is counted and shown.
But the last shown number seems not to be the real number of compared folders as with every run I see a different "last" number.
