Hi,
I have a corrupt xlsx file and I'm trying to view the contents. Hoping a TC plugin might help me, but on the addons page of the TC website I only find the Excellence and OfficeView plugins, both 32bit-only while i'm using TC 64-bit. Any suggestions on how to proceed - only thing I want is to be able to view the xlsx-content - if not in TC, so be it.
Thanks in advance!

I'm currently using Total Commander Version 10.00 64bit
Re: Spreadsheet plugin
xlsx is normally xml based inside a zip, unzipping and using text editor, you should get info in xl\worksheets\ folder.
If you want to see what is inside, you can use ulister

Re: Spreadsheet plugin
Hi,
I'm sorry but I think I don't understand what you mean:
- When selecting the corrupt xls and unzipping it in total commander, TC shows an error message "Error in archive file!".
- Trying to unzip it outside of TC with a zip tool like Bandizip, I get the message that the xlsx file is not an archive file.

Re: Spreadsheet plugin
There is also odbc-wlx: plugin to view Access, Excel and DSN files (64bit, 64-bit version requires Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable or 2016) https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=75404
Re other archivers, perhaps renaming the file first to ZIP might work.
If the file is corrupt you may not be able to open it with any program - you could try external tools to convert xlsx 2 csv https://caltechlibrary.github.io/datatools/docs/xlsx2csv/ but again if the file is corrupt you might be out of luck.

xlsx corruption can be due to different causes. The one that is the most painful is the one you experience

Give a look here
To use bandizip, just rename extension from xlsx to zip. // it TC say that the zip is corrupted then next step should be used..
You can also try to repair the zip using winrar, powerarchiver or ...
https://www.essentialdatatools.com/products/objectfixzip/

and test Excle Repair you should have a free try.
