Hi, I have used TC in-built password manager in the past and set a master password. Now I cannot remember what it was.
I actually do not care about any data that were encrypted with this old password. I would like to start over with a clean state.
For example, I was going to set up a new SFTP connection and wanted to protect it with a new master password. But I cannot set a new password until the old one is saved somewhere. So I would need to clear it.
I saw this post viewtopic.php?p=222809&hilit=clear+master+password#p222809 but there it was mentioned that until you know the old password, no protected data can be decrypted. But this is not my case. I do not care about any old data. I just want to be able start from scratch.
How can I achieve this - clear everything in password manager and start over like in freshly installed TC?

Just delete the wcx_ftp.ini file and restart TC.

Remove AESVerify and password entries from the wcx_ftp.ini file.
(to edit the file, you can use menu option Configuration/Change settings files directly)

Re: Reset master pasword to start over
If you do that you will also have to delete the password= entries from each connection, because they are still encrypted with the old Master password (that you don't know anymore).Remove AESVerify and password entries from the wcx_ftp.ini file.
You only have to delete passwords that starts with an exclamation mark (!), if they don't start with that, the password is not protected with the master password.

Re: Reset master pasword to start over
Thank you very much. I thought it should be something relatively simple like this. I just did not know where to look.
I appreciate your help.
