Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
Hi, I have problem with backup by synchronize two disks.
I have set Asymmetric option. Total commander finds files to be deleted.
After clik "Synchronize" program ask about delete files.
I confirm and it looks like deleting files but after a while the same files appear.
Do you have any ideas what could be the reason?

Re: Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
Maybe it is files that are generated automatically by some program or service

They may also be open in other programs, so Windows will prevent the deletion.
Or the recycle bin on the device is full. You can bypass the recycle bin by holding down Shift while opening the sync copy dialog.

Re: Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
Thank you. I tried with Shift and then it turned out that I don`t have permisson to make changes on this disk. No everything worksghisler(Author) wrote: 2023-02-03, 15:40 UTC They may also be open in other programs, so Windows will prevent the deletion.

Re: Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
I was seeing this same issue where I could delete files on the LEFT side of the synchronize view and not on the RIGHT.
It turns out that the error was caused because it needed admin privileges.
I think the solution is tonot fail silently, but to ask for admin privileges like is done elsewhere in TC.

That sounds reasonable.I think the solution is tonot fail silently, but to ask for admin privileges like is done elsewhere in TC.

Re: Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
I had the same issue.
Mr. Chisler was correct - In my case, the recycle bin was full. I emptied it and repeated the sync operation.
Thanks

Re: Synchronize dir option doesn`t delete files
Coming back to the topic - opening Total Commander "as administrator" may be a solution to this problem as well.
