Slow in file copy / cut by Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X

Post by *cfsamuel »

In the latest version of TC, it happens to me that file copy / cut using Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X is slow. After pressing the key, the mouse pointer changed to waiting icon for about 3 sec. And sometime even unsuccessful after pressing the key. Please fix this problem.

Copying / cutting with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X is done by Windows, not TC itself.

I was thinking the same as petermad. The first thing to check is whether or not the same delay occurs in Explorer. But even if it doesn't happen there, it could still be caused by some shell extension (there are extensions that hook the copy process) and/or anti-virus software. The former might be investigated with NirSoft ShellExView.

I checked that there is no delay in Explorer. I also checked other such as Double Commander and no problem as well. So I thought it may be TC issue.

Ctrl+C/V is still fast as usual on windows 11 here.
It could be a shell extension intercepting copy and paste.
You can check with the free tool shellexview:
