[TC 11.00b7] Mouse drag to command-line error.

Post by *HerbieH »

When I drag something with the mouse to the command line, it shows rubbish:

It happens with the x64 [TC 11.00b7] but NOT with [TC 10.52]. I have not tested other TC versions.
I use the default TC settings regarding the command-line & mouse dragging.

Windows version: 8.1 x64 fully updated (until the updates stopped earlier this year.)

Confirmed. Problem is since beta 7, probably due to the short filename bug.

probably due to the short filename bug.
Very likely - because when you drag and drop in previous versions of TC, it is the short filename that is pasted.

If I disable 'Show long file names' with cm_SwitchLongNames, then dragging with mouse works perfectly with [TC 11.00b7]

Oops:
I'm not a photoshopping troll  .

One of my friends didn't understand, how I still could see long file names in TC, even when 'Show long file names' was turned off. (See screengrab.)

If a NTFS drive is set to 'fsutil.exe behavior set disable8dot3 1' then short filenames are not created on that drive.
TC will then always show long filenames on the drive, even if 'Show long file names' are turned off.

Confirmed fixed in TC 11.00b8 - when dragging a file to the command line the 8.3 file name is now again inserted in the command line :-)
