i'd like to be tested as it is created, because i also use "Move to archive". it happened a few times that the archive was corrupted, but as the folder was deleted after the archive was created, the data could not be recovered

Try

Code: Select all

wincmd.ini
[Packer]
VerifyZIP=1
I guess it only works for ZIP archives.

By the way, currently after the test completes successfully, there is only a brief flash on the screen with no other prompts, unless there is an error with the archive file.

Is it possible to display a screen after the test is completed, stating that the test is successful, and then prompt for confirmation by pressing "OK".
I know an alternative way is to use an external program, such as 7zip. I'm wondering if there is a way to achieve this functionality without relying on external program.

The flash is a dialog that looks like the Copy progress dialog - you can see it if you test a very big archive (several gigabytes).

The new unpacker with libdeflate is just a lot faster than the old unpacker, that's why you only get a quick flash. You will only get a message when there is a verification error.

Support+ for this suggestion or make it so that the dialog does not auto close :?:

As we get a message if errors occur, what is the benefit to see every successful result ?

well I suggest also to make it via ini-switch.

tbh there is none, I personally just dont like a dialog poping up and closing without me seeing nothing but a flicker of the dialog
(and yes thats no a tc but a me flaw and I am well aware of that 8))

Horst.Epp,
Well, the one benefit I can see is that if there is a bug in the unpacker or in TC which would cause the progress dialog to crash and close silently under some circumstances (I dunno, e.g. some strange unicode control character in a filename in the archive), one would think the archive tested OK.

Just like today's update to version b9, after the program update is complete, we can expect to see the message: "Installation successful!"
If the screen only flashes briefly, I would probably run the test again to confirm if the archive file is correct.

This is also related to the display of colors. For example, if there is a folder with 20 files. I select 3 of them, which are then highlighted in selected color.
Then I run a test on these archive files. If the test results are all OK, the selected files return to unselected color.
I might not be sure which files I have tested before.
