Can TC Show Different Icon When File Has Comment

Post by *brahman »

Hello,

would anyone know how I can change a files icon automatically when I write a comment maybe with an overlay(?) so that I can immediately see if I wrote a comment to the file?

Thanks.

You can't show an overlay, but you can either show the file name in a different color (that's what I use) or replace the icon entirely.

Color:
1. Chose Configuration - Options - Color
2. Click on "Define colors by file type"
3. Click on "Add"
4. Click on "Define..."
5. Open the "Plugins" tab
6. Open the combobox "Properties" and choose "Comment"
7. Operation can be != if you want to detect non-empty comments, or "contains" or "=" to detect specific comments
8. Click "OK"
9. Enter a name, e.g. "has comment"
10. Click "OK"
11. Choose "has comment" from the list
12. Click OK
13. Choose a color
14. Click OK

Replace icon:
1. Choose menu Files - Internal associations
2. Click "Add..."
3. Follow steps 4 to 10 from the above instructions
4. Click "Change icon"
5. Choose an icon, e.g. from shell32.dll (enter the name yourself)
6. Click OK in all open dialogs
