Annoying file list behavior, lines move up on double click

Post by *mhoude »

Hi,

When you double click on a file in the lister pane (left or right), the lister does move a few lines up making the clicked file not under the mouse cursor anymore.

Is there a way to prevent this ?

Thanks

Are you sure you mean Lister? - Lister is TC's file viewer, which is used to show the content of a file. By default Lister is opened with F3 - is that the Lister you are referring to?

Mmh, maybe menu "Configuration" > Options... > Operation > Main program: ☑️ Extra lines below cursor: 4

The extra lines have no effect when you double click, only when you scroll by keyboard.

Ok,

Since I do not experience this behavior on v10.x I will stay on this one from now on.

Thanks for the help.

I can't see any difference between TC 10.52 and 11. If you don't want to keep using an outdated version forever, you can send me your wincmd.ini as a file attachment - maybe it helps me to reproduce your problem.

Try to uncheck this option - Configuration - Options - Operation

I know but I can't find any setting that is definitely responsible for this behavior. Just try.

P.S. if you double click on the file it should run. Why doesn't this happen to you?
Maybe you are using any program or script that affects TC behavior?

That is what I wondered too. The file should either be run if it is an executable, or it should be opened with it's associated program, or a pop-up should say that there is no association for the file.

Hi,

The program does run, it`s just the line moving that I find annoying.

Thanks

So this is edited video?
I see blinking overlay on some, not all exe files. It's antivirus scaner?
Just guess - you use Logitech mouse/keyboard with some special settings?
Did you finally try extralines settings?

Do you use EXACTLY the same INI file on both TC versions?

The video does show only a portion of the screen, that`s why you don`t see the application launching.
