imageres.dll icons

Post by *Perplexer »

Using TC 11.01 on Windows 11

I have an icon on a button and when I click Change on it, I see "C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll" written in the Icon file: field. Below this there are 358 icons shown. However the file imageres.dll is just 12 KB big and if I copy it to another location and point to it as the Icon file, the icon list is empty.

How come TC lists 358 icons for it when it is located in C:\Windows\System32\ ? The file seems to contain no actual icons so where is TC pulling it from?

The reason I ask is because I want to open the actual file containing the icons in an icon editor to export an icon.

This is how system redirections work.
Look for "C:\Windows\SystemResources\imageres.dll.mun"
