ICO file doesn't display ICON; IN windows explorer OK

Hi all!

When I list a folder with ICO files, windows explorer displays the icons correctly, TC doesn't (displays a blank one)

Anyone an idea?

By the way, I don't know how it works. Still, every time this eternal issue occurs in Total Commander, installing Axialis IconWorkshop does everything necessary for .ico, and .icl to be displayed correctly.
It looks as though, Axialis puts some registry entries to grant the due .ico, .icl rendering.
I'm too lazy to research the details of how to make it work without installing Axialis. Just sure there should be a way.

The "user choice" association is set to AppX43hnxtbyyps62jhe9sqpdzxn1790zetc.
This has set a default icon:

Currently when a file association has both a defaulticon and an icon handler, TC prefers the default icon. To get per file icons, change the above value of [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppX43hnxtbyyps62jhe9sqpdzxn1790zetc\DefaultIcon] to %1 or "%1" with quotes.
