How to remove the A: drive button ?

Post by *DRP535 »

How can I remove the drive button reserved for A:?

I want and use drive buttons, but the A: one is completely redundant and will never be used, so how can I get rid of it to free up space?

To the file wincmd.ini, under [Configuration], add the following line:
Allowed=CDEFG\
This only allows the listed drives plus the network neighborhood. Please include enough drive letters for USB drives.

Or if you want to just hide the drive button, add the line
DriveBarHide=A

Hide the drive in Windows.

The A drive does not have to be a floppy drive. You can assign any drive or partition to it - I use it for my SD card reader. Use Windows Disk Management to assign the drives - run diskmgmt.msc from command line.

You can also use the drive letter for a shared Network folder Use TC's menu "Net" -> "Network connections"
