Dropbox folder icons?

Is there a way for TC to show the Dropbox (synced) icons (within the Dropbox folder) in either window pane? At the moment even right clicking on a file or folder within the Dropbox folder (in TC) doesn't even show the ability to "Make online" or "Make Offline"?

Ahh, yes, that did the trick

Total Commander does not create the context menu by itself, so it should contain the same entries as the Explorer. Do you see "Make online" and "Make Offline" in the Explorer?

Yes, it shows in Explorer (when Dropbox is open and running) and I've just installed a clean Windows 11 Home on the machine I'm using and it still doesn't show in TC - but my previous Windows 10 Home machine did the same thing and TC never showed it - so I don't think I've ever seen it.

Solution!

Yes, I was using Total Commander 32-bit on a 64-bit Windows 11 machine (and I thought you initially had the answer) but I've just tried opening Total Commander 64 and it still doesn't show the Dropbox options in the right click context menu....

BUT I have always run Total Commander's shortcut as "Run this program as administrator" and this causes the Dropbox options to not show?

So the new main question is - what is the difference between running Total Commander with or without admin rights? and is it best to use the x64 on Windows 64 bit? I seem to remember that some plugins don't quite work as well with the 64 bit program but I may be wrong?
Obviously losing the Dropbox right click options is one loss using admin rights

You should know that running as Admin or not gives you different settings for all sort of apps.
Of course, it's better and normal to run a x64 TC on a x64 OS.
The only exception is using a plugin which is only available for 32bit.
But for this case, there is he combined TC version.
The most important thing is, there is no need to run TC as admin for normal work.

Normally functions don't work as admin when they try to communicate with a component (here: the Dropbox client) via Windows messages. Windows blocks messages from programs with lower rights to programs with higher rights, so a malware can't remote control a privileged program.

Btw, I don't recommend running Total Commander with higher rights all the time, because programs started from Total Commander then also run with higher rights, which defeats the purpose of the Windows security functions.

I've already turned on the overlay icons in Configuration - Options - Icons, but thi doesn't solve the provlem.
In Explorer I can see the icons correctly but in Total Commander no.
What ca I try?
