How to display the Date in Thumbnails view?

The Brief view displays in the Status bar the Name of the file under the cursor, its Size, Date and Attributes.

But the Thumbnail view only displays the name... is there any way for the Thumbnail view to display more details in the Status bar? at least the Date?

No, but this:

Configuration -> Options -> Thumbnails -> Show custom fields below thumbnails ....

That is not possible, but you can make TC show the Date and Size under each thumbnail using content plugins.

That is a workaround that makes the Thumbnail view unnecessarily cluttered, and removes space for the thumbnails themselves in the view.

You're right. I think it just developed historically and was then forgotten. Please make a suggestion about it, because it is a very good and not entirely unimportant thing.
