The forum is back, sorry for the long wait!
Finally the forum is back online, sorry for the long wait!
The forum was previously running on CentOS 7, which is end of life (no more security updates) by the end of June 2024.
I therefore had to move the server to a new system: Almalinux
Unfortunately a lot went wrong with the conversion, that's why it took so long:
1. First I tried a scrip by Plesk to auomatically convert to Almalinux. The first phase went well, but in the second phase after a reboot it could not find the drives and failed.
2. Second I tried to reinstall Linux via web hoster control panel. This seemed to work, but was painfully slow and only offered 20 GB of storage space. What had happened was that the installer created a RAID5 array with the two SSDs and an external 16GB USB flash drive(!) instead of creating a RAID1 array of the 2 SSDs (RAID1=2 disks contain the same data for redunancy).
3. I then asked the hosting provider to remove the USB flash drive, and now the Almalinux installation went well. However, Plesk refused to restore the backup, so I had to manually unpack the database dumps and directory dumps and restore them.
Please let me know if you encounter any problems with the forum or Wiki!

Of course, the question remains as to what will happen to Almalinux in the long term. (FOSDEM 2024 - Schedule - Events - Developer rooms - Distributions - AlmaLinux: How to make a RHEL compatible distribution)

Thanks, avatars should be back now.
The Wiki login problem should be fixed too.
AlmaLinux 9 should have active support until 31 May 2027, and security support until 31 May 2032.

Android -> Feeder -> RSS works from the first moment of the restart of the forum. That's how I be informed straight away, that the forum was back online.

Christian,
HTTP seems to work, HTTPS doesn't.

Maybe your reader can't handle the "Let's encrypt" certificate? However, I already used that before the update too.

Christian,
I can't really say. It worked before and now it does not. I can stay with HTTP.

I tried https in 7 different browsers, only my very old Safari for Windows from 2012 could not open it. Even IE 11 can open the forum in https
