Because the name of the referenced field is "Find text". The German help is OK.

Any reason why the + button is explained in German help but not in English help?

Plugins: ... Suche in den angegebenen Inhaltsplugins nach dem in "Text suchen" angegebenen Text. Durch Klick auf "+" können die gewünschten Plugins gewählt werden. Nützlich z.B. zur Suche nach Kommentaren oder PDF-Text.

Tested OK using TC 11.50b2. The text 'By clicking on "+" you can select the desired plugins.' was added.
