Hi there,
When I try to Multi-Rename the following foldernames with the the code [N12-100] I do not get the right result for the first folder:
"12.34.56.78 Folder A" -> ".78 Folder A" (wrong)
"12345678 Folder A" -> "lder A" (correct)
"No numbers Folder A" -> "Folder A" (correct)
Why does it not work for the first folder?

Re: Multi-Rename problem with numbers
Because Total Commander thinks there is a file name extension, even for a folder. Use [A] instead of [N] and leave the [E] field empty.
Re: Multi-Rename problem with numbers
OK, that was a bit strange since it is folders, but your solution worked
[A12-100] and no Filetype.
Thanx

[A12-100] and no Filetype.

Re: Multi-Rename problem with numbers
For the file system, Folders are Files too, but with a flag to be displayed as folder and being used as a virtual container in a path.
On your hard drive there are no folders, only entries in a table (list).

Then you don't have to remove E from the file type - and it only treats Folders as not having an extension - not files
You could also use:[A12-100] and no Filetype.
Code: Select all
[I][N12-100]
