[TC 11.50B1]: Behaviour of tab-bar

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 11.50B1]: Behaviour of tab-bar

Post by *Dennis_Stevens »

First of all thank you very much for this:

Code: Select all

15.04.24 Added: Folder tabs: Always scroll current tab into view when resizing main window (32/64)
context:
viewtopic.php?p=439251#p439251
viewtopic.php?t=81580&sid=2c377bd61b940bbc24e824ff8b208a2a

Basically the function works as expected. But there is a little glitch:

Try this (TC 64b, resolution 1920x1080 (but I think the resolution does not matter))
* with maximized TC window open enough tabs to display the horizontal scrollbuttons in the tab bar
* Select the very last tab on the far right side
* resize the window
* maximize the window again

--> the very last tab is placed in the center of the panel with a blank space on the right side between itself and the scroll buttons.

* click any of the scroll buttons

--> the tab bar is aligned correctly again with the last tab aligned to the very right side

I see the point here. TC alignes the selected tab to the center in order to place it in the visible area of the panel during a resize. But the more the selected tab is placed to the right, the larger becomes the gap between itself and the scroll buttons on maximizing the window.

Maybe you can still put the finishing touches to this very useful feature.

Thanks for confirming the fix!
What you describe doesn't have anything to do with the fix, it also happens in older TC versions. For example, try this in Total Commander 11.03:
1. Maximize Total Commander
2. Add a few tabs so that there are scrollbars
3. Restore Total Commander to not maximized
4. Switch to the last tab and make sure it's visible
5. Maximize Total Commander again
-> The first tab does not move, and there is free space to the right of the last tab

I did not change this behaviour in this fix because the current tab is still fully visible, and I want to avoid tabs from jumping around all the time when the window gets resized frequently.
