[TC 11.50b1] High cpu usage with custom IconLib

Post by *Sob »

Start TC with stripped-down config (only this and nothing more; icl is the one from https://plugins.ghisler.com/addons/wcicolib.zip):

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
IconLib=C:\path\to\Wcicolib.icl
Then when going to root of any drive (C:\, ...), Process Monitor shows TC doing this endless loop:

Those directories ("Users", "Program Files", ...) are the ones with read-only or system attributes.

Windows 10 Pro x64 with latest updates, both 32-bit and 64-bit TC.

Edit: Actually, it's not just in drive root, it's everywhere. I just didn't come across read-only or system directories elsewhere. And 32-bit TC also has [TC 11.50b1 32bit]cursor blinking.

Try switching OFF in Configuration - Display - Icons:
1) Show icons for special folders (both checkboxes or at least the first one);
2) Show default folder/file icons from Explorer.
If this does not work, switch ON all these checkboxes simultaneously. But in this case you will lose the custom icon for folders.
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

Yes, both options influence it.

This should have been fixed in 11.50 beta 2, please check!
13.10.24 Fixed: Currently active line was flickering for folders with read only, hidden or system attribute but no custom icon (while no flickering in 64-bit, it still consumed a lot of processing power) (32/64)
