[TC11.50b2] Visual glitches
For better visual representation pls turn on Dark theme. But and with Normal all will be the same.
But it will just be harder to see it here. In this theme, errors are well hidden by the fact that
the rendering is in a more pseudo-3D form performing.
Just for comparison, I’ll show these places on a normal theme, and you can compare this with
rendering in the dark. There will be glitches there too but there you will see them easier.
https://i.ibb.co/CHD7SxL/2024-10-17-104818.png
The red arrow indicates the fact that the text was too close to the border of the radio button.
As a result, it turned out that the first part of the letters was cut off. For each line/radio button.
I showed only one place, it’s just that it’s easiest to see here.
The green line shows a visually pleasing middle for placing the label to the right of the radio button.
But as we can see, in fact, the label is shifted too downwards. As a result, an empty area was formed
at the top, highlighted with a red rectangle, which looks out of place. As I wrote above, this is best seen
on a dark theme only!
About the same for the spin-box below. The buttons themselves are shifted too down and at the same
time they have a larger vertical size than their counterparts on other tabs of the settings dialog.
Everywhere it is 22 pixels, and here it is 24. As I wrote above, this is best seen on a dark theme.
Now let's move on to a more difficult glitch to describe.
In the settings dialog, open the tab 'Operation' and put your eyes on border of group-boxes.
And the places of their respective labels on the top-most borders.
Now switch to the 'Edit/View' tab, but, for example, don't take your eyes off of the top left point of
the topmost group-box 'Main program'. After switching you will notice that the position of group box
is not changed! ONLY labels were replaced! And the left position of all group-box's borders will remain
intact. Now open 'Refresh' tab. You will see a small Offset Down of position of the topmost group-box.
And here I must note that I like this position much more. For example, the label of this object doesn't
seem too drawn to the top border of the tab header.
BUT the left position of all group-box's border will remain intact! Again!
Now switch to the 'Quick Search' tab. And here we will see absolutely the same position for left-most
corner of the group-box as and on a prev. tab. And again - such a vertical position I like more!
BUT again the left position of allgroup-box's border will remain intact! Again and again!
And I list all these options as quite neat and correct (adjusted for my tastes relative to the vertical)!
BUT now let's switch to the newest '7Zip packer' tab...
And I hope that all of you, like me, will see that the group-box position shifts sharply down and to the right.
And since this applies to ALL objects of the same type - group-box - on this tab, it visually turns out like
a kind of "shock of perception" in the eyes and a feeling of falling into emptiness of all tab's contents.
As if something is sucking him into itself in the center... Terrible sight and terrible feelings...
For a more visual contrast, just quickly switch to the 'Zip packer' tab now! And back quickly. And back
and forth again.
And finally: why this
https://i.ibb.co/wNtx0Ty/2024-10-17-152622.png
was not done like that?

One more place - on a tab 'Display'
https://i.ibb.co/L8244C8/2024-10-17-154859.png
I can only add to what is displayed in the picture
that the entire line with objects should be shifted down.
And the check-box and its label and the disabled editbox on a right side.
Red arrow shows that this object is missing its top-most border line.

Maybe you could change the position of the group boxes so they match for Zip Packer dialog and 7-Zip Packer dialog - that is the one that annoys me the most

What does the verb "change" mean in your understanding? There are incorrect coordinates and different sizes.
And it seems that this is not the case to which you answer that "this difference cannot be caught, this is a rounding error,
this is due to the compiler," & etc.
The difference is too obvious and too big to just skip it.

They are controls of the compiler, I don't want to mess with them.

Re: [TC11.50b2] Visual glitches
Do you want to say that when you made a new 7-ZIP packer tab (probably taking the previous tab as a basis And this is a completely reasonable approach) you accidentally got the effect of a "tightening hypnotic trance" when switching two adjacent tabs because of the compiler used - and you are not ready to correct the coordinates of obviously broken GUI-objects?
So maybe this is "the last bell" to determine the moment when it is necessary to change the development tools?
So that you can continue to move forward in development?
I hope that, for example, you know that in dialogs created using the Qt-framework, there is no problem in making absolutely identical tabs with their content? And that there is a very useful feature for auto-leveling objects? You will never be able to make two elements of the same style there, but in such a way that suddenly, for inexplicable reasons, one will be a couple of pixels higher or wider than the other.
Yes, I know it's not Pascal/Delphi. But this is quite a hint that there are really useful changes that need to be made in the product.

Re: [TC11.50b2] Visual glitches
The 7-ZIP tab doesn't behave differently from the other tabs. Just look at the radio buttons on e.g. the ZIP packer tab.

Now on this video I hope you will see - how poorly the boundaries of the group boxes
are aligned on this new tab - Starting at 7 seconds of the video.
And before that, I show how the other adjacent pairs of tabs are perfectly aligned.
And from the 7th second, you can very clearly see how all the boundaries "fall inside"
of all group boxes in this new tab.
I also described in great detail and attached pictures in the my very first post here,
But either you didn't look through them, or you didn't read the entire text, I can't find any other reason
indicate in relation to the answer that you have just given above.
I seem to have clearly indicated there - that there are problems with the text of radio buttons on BOTH
tabs simultaneously. Text is cut off everywhere!
That is, IN ADDITION to clarifying about this clearly visible error, I pointed out MORE OTHERS,
additional issues related to the new 7-ZIP tab. But this is exactly EXTRA glitches!

I believe AntonyD refers to the fact that the group boxes are not aligned the same way in the Zip packer dialog and the 7-Zip packer dialog - if you switch between the two dialogs you can see that the content of the ZIP dialog is positioned higher and more to the left than it is in the 7-Zip dialog.
I must admit that it annoys me too, that two somewhat identical dialogs aren't rendered identical. https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/zipvs7zipdialog.mp4

unbelievable, I'm practically rewriting my first two posts!
EVERYTHING THAT IS LISTED THERE remained essentially unanswered.
OR the answer is the phrase that only the compiler is responsible for the behavior
of these controls and there is nothing that can be done about it..........
And they turn out to be the way we see them now.

Hmmm. Yes, I also confirm that. Not so pretty. Made gif (2 frames in loop) to see better:

Horizontal size of field is smaller on few pixels. And that causes the lack of space for the name of translated field for parameters command line.
