I am running Total Commander with two panes, one on the left showing the tree, the other on the right showing the contents.
With Microsoft file explorer if I drag the right hand edge of the window to make it larger only the right hand pane resizes, with xplorer2 they both resize but the left pane move much less, but with total commander both right and left move equally.
Can total commander be set to behave like file explorer or xplorer please?!
Why does it matter? It matters because as a general rule we resize for the sake of long file names, not for the sake of the tree. Now I find myself constantly have to adjust the left right proportions every time I resize the window.
Window resizing does not work like Microsoft or Xplorer

Instead of using the File panel tree (Ctrl+F8) you could use the Separate tree (Ctrl+Shift+F8) - if you only want one file panel visible you can move the panel divider all the way to one of the sides - you can use the command cm_100Percent for that.
But if you only want one file panel visible (in a two-panel file manager) then you can just as well use File Explorer...
