Hi
I can succesfully connect to my SFTP (SCP) server using Network Neighbourhood -> Secure FTP and a connection created using F7
But I can not connect to the same server creating an entry in "Connect to ftp server" dialogue after clicking the "Connect to FTP" button in the button bar. Then it stops at "SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_9.6p1 Ubuntu-3ubuntu13.5". My host name has the form ftps://my.server.no:22
Anyone understands what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Jan

Re: No SFTP using "Connect to FTP" button
SFTP hast nothing to do with FTP, despite the similarity in name. SFTP is based on SSH (Secure Shell) while FTPS achieves encryption via TLS. The built-in FTP allows to connect to FTP and FTPS but not SFTP. That's why the SFTP plugin exists.

Re: No SFTP using "Connect to FTP" button
Thanks for the clarification.
I was mislead by the port and SSL options in the "Connect to ftp server" dialogue, which made me believe it would switch rather seamless between ftp and sftp, like other software I am using.

Re: No SFTP using "Connect to FTP" button
In Total Commander 11.50 beta, you can now add an SFTP location to the Ctrl+F dialog. You still need to configure it in the plugin, though.
Enter it as follows:
\\\Secure FTP\servername\optional_path
Alternatively, you can use the field "Remote directory", it will simply be appended to the server field.
You can also use the "Local directory" field to set the directory of the other panel.

Thanks!
I can confirm it worked to connect using Ctrl-F after making an entry with "Host name[:Port]" in the "\\\Secure FTP\servername\optional_path" format.
