log file stops working after some time
Hi folks, this is my first posting on this platform. Just noticed that the log file stops keeping track of TC activities after some time, although my log file settings have been set to "Never (always log to same log file)". This makes the log file totally unreliable as a method of keeping track of your TC operations because you don't know whether it is keeping track or has decided to stop!
Re: log file stops working after some time
I have never experienced that.
How big has your totalcmd.log become? Can you reliable reproduce the problem, and how?
What version of TC are you using? What Windows version are you using? And are you using 32bit or 64bit TC?

Re: log file stops working after some time
My totalcmd.log is about 3 kb. I am using TC 11.50 32 bit. Could it be because I changed to default saving location to my D drive? I have changed back tot he default temp folder. Let's see if the error is resolved.
Re: log file stops working after some time
What kind of drive is your D drive? Harddisk partition, or a removable drive, or Network share, or....?Could it be because I changed to default saving location to my D drive?
If it is a harddisk parttition it should not be a problem - I have had my log files on drive F for a decade or more.

1. Can you open the file with F4, modify it, and save it?
2. What are your settings in Configuration - Options - Log file?

Re: log file stops working after some time
Anyone else having this problem? I haven't changed the logging functions for a while, so no idea what could be wrong now...

Since there was no reply, I'm moving this to the "will not be changed" forum.
