Can't clear master password on Windows share

Hi
My version of Total Commander on my Android phone was recently updated and it's broken the connection between my phone and my Windows 11 PC.
The share was working fine anonymously but now when I try to clear the "protect with master password" box in the share properties I can't, I clear it, tap OK but it seems to be the default now and no matter what I do I can't remove the tick from the check box.
CX File Explorer is working fine without a password, I've been using Total Commander forever and much prefer it to any other file manager, but if I can't access the Windows PC it's going to be a deal breaker.
Can someone help please?

Is this about Total Commander for Android? I ask because you posted this in the Total Commander for Windows forum, but then talk about CD File Explorer.

Sorry yes, it's Total Commander for Android.
I made a mistake, I'll try to move my post to the appropriate forum.

The LAN plugin never officially supported connections without a password, because it's highly problematic and doesn't work with Microsoft accounts. See for example:

I'm surprised that CX File Explorer manages to connect without a password.

The Windows 11 box is setup without a Microsoft account or any login password, it's only used by two of us.
The LAN plugin for TC Android was working fine anonymously until a recent update, I've tried to roll back TC and the plugin to earlier versions without success.
Are there any hacks or settings I can change that will clear the password?
Thanks again, I really like TC and have been using it for as long as I can remember.

I didn't update TC for Android and the LAN plugin for a few months, so I don't think that the change was on the plugin side. Maybe a recent Windows update?
