If I try to view a .pdf file in Lister using the IEView plugin with Foxit Reader as the default .pdf handler, the following exception occurs:
Exception EAccessViolation in module totalcmd.exe at 01E50F86.
Access violation at address 022521B2. Read of address 00000000.

How do you get it associated? I haven't managed
Then I can check if the same happens here.

Shift+right click on a .pdf file. Select 'Open with|Choose Program' and select Foxit from the list.

That is what I always do, since it wasn't working here I figured I might have to change the ieview settings.
When now quick viewing a PDF file now, it opens as plain text. Going over to the multimedia view, IEView never picks it up.
So no crash
but also no IEView

You have to have AllowActiveX=1 in Ieview.ini in order for it to open .pdf and several other file types.

I have no clue. Did it work before with Acrobat?

Yes, with Acrobat it used to work (although the quick view screen is pretty small with CTRL-Q for PDF Files
)

I don't know what to tell you. It works for me and if it worked with Acrobat, it should work with Foxit. I got tired of the bloat and slow load times of Acrobat, so I switched to Foxit.

@ robinsiebler
Cannot confirm the error. Works perfectly for me with Win2k and TC 6.53. But my IEView plugin is not the most recent. I stopped to update the plugin some time, because I could not see any advantages of the newer versions and they became slowlier and slowlier (on my antique machine, that is).
I have just installed IEView 1.93a and it also works fine. It displays pdf files within the Lister window, whereas the older version simply opened Foxit seperately. But that's the only difference I noticed.
My Foxit is version 1.3 Build 0.913.
Grüße/Regards,
Wilhelm

I've got version 1.94 of IEView. When I have time, I'll drop back a version and see what happens.

Works fine here with IEView 1.94a and Foxit Reader 1.3 (XP service pack1).
BTW thanks for Foxit link it's indeed much faster
