Trying out some of the packer plugins, installed IETOTAL and associated it with .exe's. Unfortunately I notice that now ALL exe's have the generic yellow archive icon... Is there no way to change this?
That has to be by far the worst "feature" TC has forced... makes it impossible to tell files apart. Can't tell if something is an installer, a sfx zip a sfx rar or what.

Don't associate IETotal with EXE, but any other unused "dummy" extension
IETotal detects archive by content, not extension.
And of course open EXE files by CTRL+PGDOWN, not ENTER.
Also you can use WCX Tweak ( http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/wcxtweak.html )
to change configuration of IETotal.

Hi,
I tested the plugin. It doesn't contain an installation file (pluginst.inf) which is an absence of the plugin. If this would be the case the plugin would propose the "dummy" extension. In addition the included readme doesn't tell anything about associating the plugin with a dummy "extension".
The third error the plugin has is that it replaces the icon of the associated extension (which should be a dummy one). This is caused by a function which sets the plugins properties.

To plugin writers: Indeed it's important that you add this plugins.inf file. You can find information on the file contents here:
