Could TC stop saving visual settings pr resolution?

Post by *mnerec »

TC saves font settings and some other stuff pr resolution in the ini file. This has always bugged me bad, but after I've started using VMWare with its "Autofit Guest" option, where it sets the guest resolution to your VMWare window width, it really makes me crazy.

Running TC in VMWare, TC has steadily increased my ini-file size, and it is still random for me if I get these horrible bold fonts that TC defaults to, or the ones I told TC to actually use!

I have a wish: Could TC implement one of these:
  • • Set ONE default fallback font, for all resolutions, so it doesn't fall back to the horrible bold one. (Won't fix the ini-file spamming pr resolution though) - OR
    • Make it an option to NOT save settings pr resolution. (prefferable!)
Please change this, it has been bugging me for years, and I can't be the only one.

Maybe introducing a new ini parameter:

UseOnlySetup=AxB (CxD)

for example:
UseOnlyResolution=1024x768 (8x16)

If you only want the setup [1024x768 (8x16)] used, no matter the actual resolution.

I too have a bit of a challenge with changing screen resolutions etc. causing havoc. But my thinking is that a startup 'switch' or option to specify the POSITION and SIZE of TC would help immensely to ensure TC can start up exactly where it's desired.
Kind Regards,
