Default extensions redirected to IrfanView

Post by *fenix_productions »

Hi.

What are the default images extensions passed to IrfanView / XnView by Lister?

Which one of them shouldn't be used with "IViewAdditionalTypes" parameter?

According to TC's helpfile:
IviewAdditionalTypes=
Additional file types which should be passed to Irfanview/Xnview for conversion
Example: *.xyz *.abc
If an already supported type is listed here, e.g. *.jpg, then the file isn't also detected by content.

The following file types are sent to Irfanview/Xnview even without this option:
gif, jpg, jpeg, jfif, tga, tif, tiff, pcx, png, ani, acr, cam, clp, cpt, cur, dcx, dib, eps, g3, iff, img, lbm, lwf, pbm, pgm, pcd, ppm, psd, psp, ps, ras, rle, sfw, iw44, djvu, rgb, dcm, acr, wbmp, mos, kdc, xbm, xpm, swf, fpx, sgi, jp2, j2k

You can find the complete extension-list of IrfanView here
Btw. IrfanView 4.10 has now a plugin with some simple paint-tools, to be called with F12.

I know both IrfanView and XnView handled file types. I've even compared supported extensions to find out viewers priority for viewing the images according to the load speed. It is a pity that my post has not been answered.

Here you can find the results:

1. Imagine plugin:

8bps, ani, anm, bmp, bw, cdr, cdt, cel, clp, cmx, cur, dcx, dds, dib, emf, flc, fli, gif, icl, iff, jpe, jpeg, jpg, lbm, mac, macp, mng, pat, pbm, pcd, pcx, pgm, pic, png, psd, psp, ras, rgb, rla, rle, rpm, sgi, spr, tga, tif, tiff, wap, wbm, wbmp, wmf, xbm, xcf, xpm,

2. IrfanView

acr, arw, awd, b3d, cam, cgm, cpt, cr2, crw, dcm, dcr, djvu, dll, dng, dwg, dxf, ecw, eef, eps, exe, fits, flv, fpx, fsh, g3, hdp, hdr, hpgl, ico, ics, ima, img, iw44, j2k, jng, jp2, jpc, jpm, kdc, ldf, lwf, mp4, mrc, mrw, mrsid, nef, ngg, nlm, nol, orf, pdf, pef, pict, ppm, pvr,

3. XnView

PS. This "list" should be shortened by cutting off non-image extensions.

It lacks stuff from TC 7.02a, like SpecialCursorMovement for example.

Too bad that ghisler still isn't able to create one single thread or a decent web presentation with all of his updates, so users would not need to waste their time with pointing other users to these hidden locations.

Will this ever change? Oh yeah, "Help button not working"...

Maybe it lacks something, but not SpecialCursorMovement.

Indeed SpecialCursorMovement=8 was added after TC 7.02, in TC 7.02a.
