Content plugin

Introduction

Content plug-ins provide additional information and properties for files and directories. In addition content plug-ins can be used to find text in binary documents.

Examples

The possibilities for Content plug-ins are infinite. Just a few examples:

• title, genre, year of music- or video documents
• Comments or keywords from documents
• Full text search in Word or PDF documents

Functionality

Total Commander devlivers a file name to the plug-in. How this information is retrieved is plug-in task. The plug-in sends the information back to Total Commander. Total Commander will now display this information or process this in another way. The chapter use deals with this application areas.
