RFE: type folder path in command line

Post by *denishowe »

I keep typing things like

\\foohost\c$

in TC's command line, without the initial "cd ", like you can in the Start->Run box. It would be great if this worked.

The fact that the above example is a share UNC is largely irrelevant, that's just what I usually try to use this nonexistant feature for. It should work for any folder. Actually, it might be harder to detect whether a UNC is a folder or file, in which case, I would be happy to put "\" on the end to help TC out.

Yes , It woud be great. SpeedCommander can do it.
And what point to open dir's with associated program (i.e. explorer) from within TC ? It may be useful but so so seldom ...

Just " \\foohost\c$" on the command line isn't a valid command !
In the matter of fact it is the default action of your Windows command shell to interpret it as a folder, opened logically with explorer.

If you want TC to change to this folder, simply tell him to do : Enter it in its header line ...
