[Minor] Inline rename doesn't loose in particular case

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[Minor] Inline rename doesn't loose in particular case

Post by *m^2 »

Well, the title isn't too descriptive, but it because of the length limit. :P
The "particular case" is clicking on the tab header. The blue (usually) part of it.
So to reproduce:
Place cursor on a file. Execute cm_RenameOnly (Shift+F6 by default). Click on the tab header.
It isn't something that really hurts, but I feel that it's inconsistent behaviour and very unexpected.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean with "Tab header". Do you try to switch to a different tab? I tried that, but the rename box was correctly closed...

Please give more details.

Rename box is not closed when you click on current tab or any empty place in tabs header.
It happens also for playing with splitter position.

This isn't a bug. The focus does NOT go away from the rename box if you click on the current tab, you can still continue to rename - at least that's what happens on Windows XP...

If it's not a bug then it's inconsistency. Clicking anywhere else (even in empty space on files list) closes renaming.

Well, as m^2 wrote: it's a minor issue.

fenix_productions,
Clicking anywhere else (even in empty space on files list) closes renaming.
Strange, here I can click on the title bar or on an empty space in the menu bar and the rename box is not closed.

What occurs here

:) Hello !

• What occurs here:

¤ Click a folder tab, folder tab header >> No close

¤ Click the title-bars (panels and main) >> No close (as Roman says)

¤ Move the panels splitter >> No Close

¤ 2-click on the splitter to come back as 50¦50 >> Close

¤ Change the current button-bar from an icon of it >> Close
- That's strange, since it's a single click, anyway…

It's closed only when the focus goes away from the rename box, or if resizing is caused, which could move the edit box to a location where it would be invisible...

I meant the blue part, which contains current path. I guess that's called a "title bar" ;)
I discovered it when I resigned from renaming and decided to change directory...and couldn't do this until I clicked somewhere else.
But the strange thing is that while yesterday the bug was reproducible, today it's not. :?
