New release: version 1.0 beta 8 (20090217).
  • Added: Support for environment variables in editor, viewer and external file manager fields.
    Added: Environment variable %VTFIND_PATH% to vtfind.exe path.
    Added: Disable optionally branch view for feed search results to Total Commander.
    Added: Environment variable %VTFIND_DRIVE% point to drive where vtfind.exe was started.
    Added: ViewerTC75=1 Use the new method for pass files to built-in lister in TC 7.5. (only will work with TC 7.5 or above)
    Fixed: Date and attributes for directories in status bar.
Mainly this version add support for handle environment variables suggested by Horst.Epp (thanks). This helps to run vtfind as portable more easily.

Hi Sombra,

This is a great peace of software. However I have a strange problem. When I search for example *.txt files it results files that aren't there anymore. What could be the problem ?

Hello,
Tanks for the information. I also can observe this problem now, showing the files at this mode "C:filename" (without backslash after : ) Seems that files in recycle bin also are shown here.
I'm trying to find a qay to "clean up" my MFT.
I'm not sure how do it, perhaps with a disk defragmenter tool as JkDefrag :?:, I didn't test it.

Hello

the help-file (CHM) gives credits to the translators of French and German - but in the download pack is only Spanish and English. Where are the other ones?

Open files from Feed-list; filtered list

Post by *Peter »

Edit - Problem a) is solved (user bug ...)

a)
If I try to open a file (e.g. a TXT file) I have problems:

- Clicking down the structure of the "feed_TC.lst" and double-click on a file displays the unpack-dialogue : "Unpack and start / ....". This ends in a "Error on program call".

- Using the commands from "VTfind" ("Run / open with") ends with a "Wrong parameter."

IMHO I made my settings strictly compliant with the help file ...

b)
I use the "List filter" - but printing the list prints all results, not only the filtered. Iss it possible to print only the filtered list?

Regards

Peter

Confusion complete .... :shock: :shock:

a) "Wrong parameter"
Sorry - this was my fault. I tried with an extension where the extension was not correct. With other extensions it works fine.

b) Always Explorer mode
This is an option which can only be enabled, but not disabled. It becomes grey and inactive ...
Why? What is it good for?

c) Feed to list
With your INI I don?t have the "Feed to List" commands in the menu. And "Ctrl+L" creates an empty list. Something wrong with TC integration?

d) Diskdir grey
At the first moment the option for "Diskdir" was empty and grey.

e) Network drives
With my INI I can see all my network-drives too, with you INI only the local drives. My drive-dialogue display a grey string "Choose only NTFS volumes"

My INI:

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
AutoSetF=Checked
Cerrar=
DateTime=0
DoubleClickOnList=2
DrivesPreload=C
Editor=D:\Software\Ultraedit_14\Uedit32.exe

Since beta 7, many strings were not updated, I removed it in the package, if you wish a previous translation, I'll search in my backups.
I use the "List filter" - but printing the list prints all results, not only the filtered. Iss it possible to print only the filtered list?
This option was not implemented. As workaround, you can save the list to a txt file or better open the filtered list with the editor (CTRL+E)
e) Network drives
With my INI I can see all my network-drives too, with you INI only the local drives. My drive-dialogue display a grey string "Choose only NTFS volumes"
The user Horst.Epp have the option NTFSList=1, in this way only NTFS volumes are detected and shown in window dialog for select drive(s), as consequence the message "Choose only NTFS volumes" is not necessary.
In Listbox I get wrong filedates: all are same, and the year is 1935 or 2253 or ...
Do you have WSH enabled?
something new with VTfind?
Sorry, I have not any plans for vtfind (except if a serious bug appears).

Yes, I think so - a use a lot of VBS-scripts in TC for script-plugin. But I will check it again.
