help to start this plug-in pls

Post by *naklar »

how do i start it? i installed it, but dont see what is written on page 1 here

The plugin creates a virtual file system (wfx) with a SQLite database as backend (will be automatically created after first access).

so: what is "first access"? i dont get it,
homepage doesnt tell either

TIA

AWSOME showing what TC is capable of and realy nice Plugin,
BUT
please store MP3CMD.DB & SQLite3.DLL where it belongs
(in the plugin directory)

WISH: being able to take songs out of the db into an m3u file :D

Is this plugin still being developed?
chmod a+x /bin/laden -- Allows anyone the permission to execute /bin/laden

How do I un-overwrite all my data?

Hi, downloading now, going to try.

ANY chances of adding wavpack (*.wv) support?

Great plug! I guess it won't happen but could I request two digits in "track" column 'cos one digit messes sorting. And it would be nice to have summary length of selected tracks on this bar beneath main window. Thanks in advance. ;)

Please, add to plugin procedure/method of checking does database exist.

Yesterday I've moved my TC into another PC and I saw many access violation errors with MP3cmd. The reason I found was bad location of database file. After deleting fsplugin.ini entries all started to work again (db was recreated) without any problems.

Update to the new TC`s unicode interface would also be nice.

I think Troops is gone, the last post by Troops is Fri Oct 12, 2007 (DirInfo Plugin thread). Though an update or two would certainly be welcome.

but the plugin on totalcmd.net was last updated on 6 december 2009, so it seems that development is still ongoing

.
wow, what a wonderful plugin!
thanks so much for making this available to the community

[suggestion1]: please store all files in the plugin directory, NOT in the totalcmd installation dir. Imagine the mess if every plugin did that … :-)

[suggestion2]: playlists

[suggestion3]: support of more file formats, most importantly AAC and APE. Then .tak .wv .mpc .ogg would be also cool. There sure are free libraries already available for that. Possibly distributed with the anytag TC plugin or the mp3tag program (both from the same author), which are able to parse tags from pretty much any audio format.

[suggestion4]: concerning coverart, let the user specify a filename (ideally allowing wildcards) in plugin settings, e.g. "coverart.jpg" or "AlbumArt_{*.jp*g"
then display the coverart in this priority:
1) coverart from id3v2 tag
2) user specified filename
3) folder.jpg or folder.jpeg or folder.png
4) first image file found in directory
i.e. start with 1), if not available use 2), otherwise 3) and if nothing else is there use 4)

[suggestion5]: rename album to release. This has two advantages: First of all, you don't have two directories beginning with "A" (album and artists), so you could use a "R" icon for release (instead of "L" for album). And secondly the term is more appropriate, because not all directories are albums. Some are singles, some are EPs, some are compilations, etc. The generic term is simply release.

[suggestion6]: ok this is my last idea, and I would fancy this one a lot. But I think if implemented it should be made optional for the user. The idea stems from the anytag plugin which lists ALL available id3v2 fields, even custom fields (TXXX). It would be wonderful if your plugin, too, displayed all fields off the files in the catalogue (not just artist, title, album, genre and year). There are other fields which are highly useful for categorization, example given: "composer", "conductor", "mixer". Ideally the user could choose if all fields, only some (and which ones) or only the standard fields (status quo) should be displayed as directories. An additional advantage of this approach is that it accounts for custom fields (TXXX). For example, I have all my audio files tagged with a field called "mood" where I enter the name of one (or more!) mood types (e.g. sad, upbeat, relaxing, etc.). Now if your plugin would list all fields, the user would see a directory "mood" and a subdir "relaxing" and now has a perfect list of chill-out music :-)

And again, thanks for this wonderful toy you let us play with :)

If you try to install that plugin you will notice the files are from 2007. Looks like someone just uploaded the version from 2007 to make it available.
