OK, after several tries, I think that I found a way to reproduce your problem:

Yes - here are my steps that I didn't get round to posting sooner:

- delete wincmd.ini
- start TOTALCMD64.EXE
- cancel the options dialog
- ALT+F7
-- (notice black bar on right side)
- maximise
- start search
- close search window
- ALT+F7
- search is already maximized
- start search
- incorrect size
- start search
- correct size

I cn confirm the bug with Giovanni's recipe.

This was a really tough problem, because Lazarus window placement was interfering with my call to Windows SetWindowPlacement (which considers the location of the task bar, contrary to Lazarus). I think that I found a working solutuion for beta 3, though.

Confirmed fixed in TC 8.0b3 x64 except for the black bar in the right side of the search dialog. This bar occurs only the FIRST time the search dialog is opened after starting TC with fresh ini file.

Thanks for confirming! Unfortunately I could not find any reason for the black bar, so we will unfortunately have to live with it.
