Greetings.
I am using SyW 2.9.462.
It seems the ALT-F combo has some bug(s)
if SyW has a file open that was opened via the XP contextmenu -
(even if SyW was subsequently closed & reopened).
With only 1 file open & opened via the XP contextmenu,
ALT-F causes SyW to give the error message»
ALT-F causes SyW to switch to the tab of the file opened via the XP contextmenu.
With 2 or more files open & at least 1 opened via the XP contextmenu,
if/when SyW is focused on the tab of the file opened via the XP contextmenu,
ALT-F does nothing.
unless SyW is launched to open a new file via the contextmenu ...
I'll take a look at the lexer update ASAP ...

I find that SyW will reopen all tabs that were open when SyW was closedxoxogen77 wrote:I want syn2.exe to keep all tabs I've been using when I close this program and then open it with another file.

Ja, ALT-F normally opens the &File dialog like ALT-E opens the &Edit dialog.
I have discovered that the problems I described in my previous post are ONLY happening
if/when I open files into SyW via the XP contextmenu
from xplorer² freeware file manager.
ALT-F works just fine when I open files into SyW
via the XP contextmenu from any other freeware file manager.
Unfortunately I use x² in combo with SyW all the time,
so I wonder what could be causing the problem?
All file managers execute the same XP contextmenu commandline.

Greetings.
Notepad2-mod 4.2.25.705 is now available and has the promised aviSynth syntax highlighting.
As far as I know, that is the only place to find aviSynth synhiliting.
Np2 (&Np2-mod) is(are) open source,
so SyW could probably use the Np2-mod avs lexer as a model for a SyW avs lexer ...

Greetings.
Notepad2 is the main/parent application.
Notepad2-mod is 1 of several customized "sub-versions" -
kind of like how Chromium is the main app and Google Chrome is a "sub-version" ...
The Np2 apps are install-free ("portable") even though not labeled "portable".
Upon 1st launch, Np2 apps create a Np2.ini file.
The Np2 apps allow the user to tweak the synhiliting (colors & etc.) but not the keywords.
(I have submitted to the Np2 author that I find that aspect of Np2 to be a shortcoming ...)
Anyway, you could/should download the Np2-mod app and source code from that link.
The only way to see the aviSynth lexer is to look at the source code.
I do not know how to work with the source code ...
(if I did, I would fully customize the AHK lexer to my liking ...)

search parameters from TC
I really like SynWrite, it is fast! Thanks
But 2 things I miss. May be because I can't find the correct settings;
1) Inherit the search parameter from TC, also when using "Find Text" from "Find Files" dialog in TC.
When you search for a text string in files under "Find files" dialog SynWrite doens't use the same text string to search for! Is there a setting I'm missing?
2) Column selection.
Make copy, cut, paste operation with column mode. Cool feature to have.
SynPlus 2.7.3 can do both above, but has a horrible search dialog when using a standalone viewer/editor.
