Sorry, this is intentional because it's not possible to move a paused operation to the background.

I do not remember this being the case previously.
I was just about to post a new bug report then found this one which is very similar.
The problem that i noticed was that after pausing a download, I am unable to move that download in to the background with the background button after resuming it with the resume button. Maybe that is exactly the same as the op.

You remember wrong. Try it by your own. This is the behavior since this feature was established (years ago, as threading comes up)...sekular wrote:I do not remember this being the case previously.
No, the third alternative is to change nothing. Because this is - in fact - not a bug, but the normal behavior, since this feature exists.MaxX wrote:So, we have 2 alternatives:
All users, who use it regularly, know this behavior and know the meaning of the labels of the buttons. Who uses it for the first time gets to know the behavior, and from then use it accordingly.
I suggest that this thread is put to then forum "TC Behaviour which will not be changed".

So what?All users, who use it regularly, know this behavior and know the meaning of the labels of the buttons.
If resuming an action is normal... Button should be named as it is but not "as you used to see it". Name "Continue in background" is much more suitable here, than old one.
Doing nothing is the mistake anyway!

<nitpicking>
And '[Continue (pause mode) in Background]' would be totally correct?
Or should the button be labeled:
'[Resume operation in Background]' if in pause mode and
'[Continue operation in Background]' if not.
Or the pleasant variant:
'[Please try to move the current operation into a background process (I don't care if the operation will be automatically resumed in this case)]'
</nitpicking>

"Continue Background" without saying what will be continued is ambiguous.MaxX wrote:2ghisler(Author)
So, we have 2 alternatives:
1. rename button "continue background" (actual if nothing changed).
2. automatically pause background-ed operation.
As for me, 1st is simple and stable. 2nd is smarter but can be buggy.

Please, moderators, let HolgerK and MaxX discuss this elsewhere, but not in the Bug forum... [1]

[1] This is to reduce the theads within bug forum, to speed up the release of the tc. Because big new challenges await after the release...

All I wanted to say is already said. There's nothing more to discuss.
