Error in Virtual PC 2007
The program Total Commander v.8.00 32 bit is started in the Virtual PC.
Option Copy/Delete - Use standart copy method.
The Virtual PC is created with the Microsoft Virtual PC v.6.0.192.0 2007.
On the physical computer and on the Virtual PC works Windows XP sp3 32 bit.
The folder C:\_Temp is located on the physical computer.
In the Virtual PC this folder C:\_Temp is disk Z.
The error is shown if copy from Z to Virtual PC.
The error is shown not always.

Yeap, can confirm, BUT there's no problem in TC - there's a bug in VPC2007 with shared folders. The error is shown if copy from Z to Virtual PC.
You'd better use VirtualBox instead of VPC, 'cause there's no such bugs.
p.s.
Even more, MS VirtualPC also always breaks come of executables on mounted *.iso (and gives wrong bytes there), but capturing existing optical drive works normal.
So... Forget about this buggy emul!

Unfortunately some guests in Microsoft Virtual PC seem to have problems with the standard Windows function CopyFileEx used by TC. Try using copy&paste instead (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V).

yea-yea-yea...
As I said, Virtual PC DOES have a bug with host-shared folders inside guest systems. This is present in ANY version of VPC and with ANY host and guest systems.
That's not TC's bug.
1. Just don't directly use these folders.
2. Never use shared folder to transfer >5…10 files (better: put them inside archive -> copy to the inside -> unpack it inside)
If you need - copy files to the inside of guest OS's disk C: and work from there. It's the only way to solve problems.

TC v7.56a is using the exact same function CopyFileEx for copying as TC 8. I really wonder what you are doing wrong. Maybe you are using different copy options?

Don't worry, that is NOT TC's problem.
Working with VPC2007 I often get these errors on any shared folders with any program accessing to there. And all of them tell about mistakes during reading/writing there.
As the solution: I just pack needed to transfer files into rar's and zip's (they have crc's inside), then if something goes wrong I just copy and extract the archive again. Simple. Easy.
p.s.
It's MS's native error.

I just wonder why Nata16k8 gets an error only with TC8, but not TC 7.56a - it doesn't make sense to me. Do you get the same problem?

I do, as I said. I get this "bug" too often to prove that it's not TC's problem.
I get it in TC, Explorer, diffrent editors and filemanagers. Even installers started from shared folder sometimes say me that installation is corrupted.

Are you sure, TC 7.56a works OK?
Windows 10 Pro x64, Windows 11 Pro x64
I use both of them for some reasons (too long to tell).Looks like you are not using VirtualBox then.

I use VirtualBox, Vmware and the Windows XP mode (based on Virtual PC). The most reliable way to transfer data is to start TC on the target location, and then get the data from the source. You may also try to delete any target files before sending files to the target when going in the reverse direction.
