[TC8.01RC1x64] Flickering func-buttons while hovering mouse.

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC8.01RC1x64] Flickering func-buttons while hovering mouse.

Post by *MaxX »

So, that's it.
You can see quick flickering of func-button's text (F3 View, F4 Edit...) when you just move mouse over them.
Nothing less or more.
Try yourself: just move cursor left-right through the func-buttons.
Only x64 version is affected, but x32 works fine.

Ah, forgot something.
I see this on my Win7 SP1 x64 with classic theme (Aero is disabled).

I can't confirm this problem. On my machine it works just fine. Tried maximizing Total Commander but no luck. I even switched back to the classic theme on Windows 7 and it's still the same. I didn't noticed any flickering with a clean wincmd.ini

Used version 8.01 RC1 64bit. I don't know but Christian made so many changes on the Function buttons in the Beta/RC versions of Total Commander 8.0. If something gets changes here something else breaks. There are some obscure bugs left that was already reported like the holding CRTL+F2 while the window is maximized...

Ok now I see what you mean MaxX. It's just a tiny little flickering that you can barely even notice. Moving the cursor across the function buttons doesn't really flicker at all. Try moving the cursor vertically instead of horizontally.

I think it's still acceptable and fine, but how many times should we redraw the function bar so we will get no flickering at all. Let's wait until Christian replies and see his opinion about this issue.

Edit: Here's a screen capture, but it happens rarely. Both on the 32 and 64bit versions. I think there is not much we can do about this, we have to live with this. Link to the recording: http://www.screenr.com/csl8

A flickering of controls in TC is a very common thing, regardless of platform (x32, x64) or theme (Classic, Aero). For example my report with enabled Aero.

I'm sorry, it's not feasible to fix this very tiny flickering.
