The server is case-sensitive and the link to the file should look like this:SPeller wrote:the link
http://www.geocities.com/ts24242/Zipfiles/UtcmePro.zip (program without setup)
not works
http://www.geocities.com/ts24242/Zipfiles/Utcmepro.zip
But it doesn't work probably directly from here so you must wait until author changes it or:
- copy the above address to clipboard
- go to author's page ( http://www.geocities.com/ts24242/utcmedit.htm )
- paste the address from clipboard.
It should work.

Just some minor aesthetical features I would like, if I may!
Would it be possible to configure the size of the icons from an option in the configurations as well as colours (background and fonts)?
It would also be nice to be able to view (and edit) comments within a menu file. I use comments a lot since I distribute my menu file to other users and I need to include some guidelines in this way.
Thanks in advance and keep up the already good work.
Regards,
Panos

I'd like to see the following enhancements:
1. An Undo option under Edit.
Bugs:
Something strange is going on with Tooltips:
For the icons on the toolbar, I have noticed that I can only get a tooltip for an icon *after* I have clicked on it. Then I can get a tooltip for any icon in that section. To get a tooltip for an icon in another section, I have to click on an icon in that section. For instance, if I click on the 'New' icon, I can get tooltips for New, Open, and Save, but nothing else.
I have noticed that tooltips pop up for some of the items in the left pane, but since the tooltip is identical to the actual item, it's not helpful. It would be nice if there were tooltips for all of the available TC commands explaining what they are/do.

The text like tooltips appear only if there isn't space to display all menu item text.
to check this try to move the splitter to the max left position the like tooltips text will pop up for any item you move over to show the hidden text, and if you move the splitter to the max reight position you will never see anything. that is all.
this is not bug, on my computer the toolbar tips work as expected, when i move over any button in any section i get the tooltips without click it. the problem not belong to my program.Bugs:

you mean by left pan the menu tree indeed there isn't tooltips for it.I have noticed that tooltips pop up for some of the items in the left pane, but since the tooltip is identical to the actual item, it's not helpful. Well since we can define the font size I think that it would be welcome to be able to define icon size because looks does not match with small font settings. Just a thought!

when i asked you to send your menu file i was thinking you add your comment lines between the menu command lines. but as far as the comments appear only in the first and in the end of the menu file it is easy task to preserve these lines when saving the file. so i will take of that in the next version.
very good organized menu.

Thanks for considering it! There are though some comments elsewhere (check just before the user menu entry).ts4242 wrote:when i asked you to send your menu file i was thinking you add your comment lines between the menu command lines. but as far as the comments appear only in the first and in the end of the menu file it is easy task to preserve these lines when saving the file. so i will take of that in the next version.
I good approach in my opinion could be if there is a separate entry in the internal commands that reads something like "Add Comment" that will prompt the user to type in the text and internally your tool will just pass the ";" character adding the text next to it.
Now for viewing the list with comments you can just display a certain length (let's say 15 characters) and the remaining could be viewable either with a status bar or even better with a pop-up window.
Just a thought!

Regards,
indeed adding comment for each command is not so difficult but can i ask you who will need these comment? the menu text is enough to explain waht the command do, and if someone did not understand the menu text the comment will not help him, he need to read the TC help file.I good approach in my opinion could be if there is a separate entry in the internal commands that reads something like "Add Comment" that will prompt the user to type in the text and internally your tool will just pass the ";" character adding the text next to it.

Regards,
I think this idea is not as useless as it seems to you. When I look at the comments pdavit made, it could be very helpful for inexperienced users to adapt a menu to their needs, if there is a good commented template.ts4242 wrote: indeed adding comment for each command is not so difficult but can i ask you who will need these comment? the menu text is enough to explain waht the command do, and if someone did not understand the menu text the comment will not help him, he need to read the TC help file.

Nothing to add here!ts4242 wrote:...but can i ask you who will need these comment?...

There can be many reasons why someone might need comments. Some are obvious some are not and are based on different user needs.
Some obvious ones:
- To clarify the version of a menu file
- To specify the additions and/or changes from a previous version
- To indicate use of beta testing internal commands
And one personal:
- A fancy tag as the one I'm using in the beginning of my menu file.
