Hi,
Something which bothers me for quite some time (it was already there in TC 8.0/8.01) is the following:
When I view a file using F3, it is opened in Lister, most of the time it is formatted due to some plugin. Sometimes it happens that the viewed content goes out of the lister frame. When trying to close the file again with ESC, the separate content window disappears, but the lister window remains persistent and cannot be closed, it is only removed when closing TC instance. It is very well possible that a combination of plugins does trigger this behaviour, but this is not readily reproducible. Any ideas on how to pursue this?
Regards, EricB

Lister don't have tabs by default.
Looks like you have tLister plugin and that's plugin's bug.

Indeed it looks like a plugin bug. Do you get this with any other plugins?

Hi, sorry for the delay.
I also observe this often with Imagine and SynWrite, but also sometimes with FileInfo. Those are the ones most used, but I vaguely remember also others showing the same behaviour. But it is never predictable. It might have to do with available memory or something else.
Maxx is right, I'm also using tlister, but in the past I tried disabling it and still saw same behaviour as described.
I agree it is most likely a plugin bug (probably a combination), and I would like to know what is the best strategy for debugging/finding root cause. Disabling the 30some lister plugins piece by piece is not my preferred approach

tLister is the main troublemaker anyway.
AFAIK, plugin's author had developed it only for testing and found out that's no way to make it work good enough. He could not fix some bugs (this one and some else) because they're native for this plugin.
Just delete this buggy plugin and forget about it. And get happy!

Thanks for the additional information! OK, I will give it another go of disable/uninstall and see how this works out. I'll report back the results (this can take a few week though).

BTW I just might put lister tabs as a suggestion in that particular forum (but first check if it is not already present).

Well, after a few days of normal use I can already tell I've no problems any more, so tLister was indeed the culprit. Thanks again MaxX!

Edit:
I just seconded MaxX request for a tabbed Lister in this thread http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=35463&highlight=lister+tabs
