Only when I clicked RMB on desktop on the place of popup (and got W7's destop RMB menu over it) it disappeared (LMB did nothing).

TC 8.50 b3 @ Win7 x64

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it, but I have now changed the code how this is hidden - hopefully it will help in your case.
