2 posts up I presented an idea...
If anyone thinks about doing something opensource-like, better do it fast. I stumbled over filezilla http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/ and basil http://bazil.mozdev.org/
You just can't compete with mozilla crew(s)! Too many, too public, too funded.

Mozilla is getting PIM, Browser, file, blah, blah suit and it evolves fast. Why use other programs if "mozilla" suports it all and everithing else is basic. Basil also thinks TC if you visited the site.

:)   Hi!
• Please, could you fix the link to "Bazil" ? Just remove the final triple-dot, or else you have an Error 404... Thanks.
• I watched the capture of Bazil, rather looks like Explorer, in my modest opinion...

 Best regards,
Claude

The inability of TC to copy a file without setting the archive attribute must be considered a bug. When will it be fixed?

I respectfully have a suggestion for all of you who are pushing for Christian to release Total Commander as open source.

Tomorrow when you go into work tell your boss that you are going to make your position in the company open source & that you will no longer require to be paid traditional wages.

Tell him that starting immediately you will be relying on donations from him, your fellow co-workers, and your business's customers in order to make a living.

Come back in a few months and let us know how that arrangement is working out for you financially.

Once you've done that, I'll be happy to discuss with you why Christian should or should not give up his hard work, prosperous living, and intellectual property to open source.

I think you address a little missing feature, but surely not a bug. Actually there are many features that could be added to the copy function. Just for a start one could suggest to support more or less all options of xcopy.exe. If I remember correctly some other related suggestions were already posted in this forum.
Furthermore this thread was about support for the 7-zip(.7z) packer and wandered to Open Source. So it would be more reasonable to resume an existing one about the copy function or to start a new one.

If TC makes a modified rather than a direct copy of a file then there is a problem, regardless of xcopy - sorry about being off-topic.[/i]

The Windows Explorer and the COPY command show the same behavior like TC regarding the archive attribute.
