Hi,
On this Forum, same questions are done often:
How To remove DirBrackets. How To encrypt a Zip file...and some others known by all.
I know that there exists " Frequently asked questions (FAQ) " in the help, but it looks like the newbies never remember it.
Probably it's good to open a new thread (Sticky read-only) in order that they could read it before to write a new (and repeated) topic.

Hello Joaquin !
- Good idea, I support it; however, a "hard" selection might be done to get a reasonable page size, or else the newbies will not read it more than the Help/Tutorials...
Kind regards,
Claude

I' m against it. I think there ar so many questions to put in the sticky thread, you would find the new requests at the side 2 of the forum.Jqn wrote:Probably it's good to open a new thread (Sticky read-only) in order that they could read it before to write a new (and repeated) topic.
You're probably right, that some newbies don't read the faq. But I guess they would not read the 'sticky' threads either. They just want ask and get a quick answer. And in most cases they get it.
I know if I'm struggling with a Computer problem half day long and then decide to search the net for a solution I have not the peace to read the FAQ carfully or search a forum and sift 36 topics.
Im not really bored to answer that the not working [alt]+[F5] for packing is a ATI problem

I think Sheepdog is right.
Mostly, along the answer, we also give a hint to the newbies to use the search function, read the tutorial and help. etc. If we answer their questions right away and help them using TC, they will more likely become a registered TC user, which means money for Christian and in turn new versions of TC for us

I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Yup. It was a silly thing from ATI. In the newer versions though, you can go to the display properties and disable the ATI taskbar and tray icon which returns controls of ALT+F5 to windows and solves the problem. In the general issue of the post, I don't know if the forum can be automated so much by Christian/the moderators, but there could be a single-click option available for the moderators and when they see a post that has an answer in the FAQs, they could press that button and it would automatically add an answer to the post saying "Please look in the FAQs for an answer" or something similar (more datailed and polite of course

Just some ideas...

Normally using latest TC on:

Hello !
It seems that an "Applaud" smiley is missing here in the collection…

Hello !
• In anyway, a newbie who decided to purchase a TC-licence shall do it ! The need to see another page, or to come back to read a sticky for the needed info shan't prevent him/her to pay his licence.
• In the opposite, those who prefer an abusive TC-using for free will not change their behaviour (alas !), with a mini-FAQ sticky or without…

My personal opinion is that it is a good idea, as some of you might remember the (pretty much failed) forum made by Boofo where we had some threads as a FAQ, however, it has been hardly visited / recommended. We will think about a FAQ here, although I can't say when or how or if we realize it.
Anyway, thanks for reminding!
