(solved for now) [TC11b10] Use of Change Directory Menu crashes program

Post by *DRP535 »

Just a minor bug with the new beta 10 in that any use whatsoever of the CTRL+D Change Directory Menu shortcut in the 32bit version of TC instantly and without error message or warning silent crashes the whole program in exactly the same way as if you had just clicked the X in the top right corner of the window. I've since gone back to beta 9 again where the problem does not exist, because I use CTRL+D a LOT and having the program just simply end whenever you try to use it makes TC unuseable.

NOT confirmed. Could you please send me your [DirMenu] section from the wincmd.ini to support at ghisler dot com?
You can open the wincmd.ini file via menu Configuration - Change settings files directly.

Resent because Ghisler isn't spelt G I H S L E R

Edit: Confirmed problem does not affect x64 version install, only x86 install running on a native XP SP3 environment (not an emulator or virtual machine)

Sent again THREE more times using THREE different ISP servers: Gmail, Yahoo and ISP provided server. No bounced message errors are coming back. This is the last attempt.

Thanks, this time I received your mail 3 times! Unfortunately I don't get any crash with your [DirMenu] section on Windows XP 32-bit (running in a virtual machine). I have also compared the code of the "Change Directory Menu" dialog with the older version, and the only change was for dark mode handling. I will add some extra checking code to it and hope that it will fix your problem.

I am running Dark Mode if that makes a difference. No configuration changes whatsoever between b9 + b10 though. b10 crashes as soon as you try to access any directory via CTRL+D, whereas b9 does not.

I tried in dark mode too, no crashes. Can you be more detailed in what you did?

2. ???

And if you call the command from the menu: Commands --> Directory Hotlist (Alt+C, H)?
