[TC 11.50rc1 normal mode] Configuration Font: scrollbar (up/down buttons) not disabled when it should be

Post by *white »

This issue only exist in normal mode (dark mode works OK).
  • Use a clean ini file or make sure the option "Set dots per inch (DPI) to:" is disabled.
  • Execute cm_FontConfig
  • The scrollbar (up/down buttons) after the "Set dots per inch (DPI) to:" option is not disabled.

I can't confirm this. Maybe some other prerequisites needed?
Checked with 32 bit and 64 bit versions

Did you use a clean ini or did you disable the option. In case of the latter, you need to re-open the dialog.
Did you click the up/down buttons and it did nothing?

Me too. And the issue isn't new for version 11.50.

Not confirmed either, tested under Windows 10 and 7 with TC 11.50rc1 32bit and 64bit with clean ini in both normal and dark mode.

o. And the issue isn't new for version 11.50.
I also tried with TC 11.03 x64 under Windows 7 with clean ini - I still cannot reproduce the problem.

Confirmed that there is no issue when I use a Windows 10 virtual machine. I am using Windows 11 version 24H2 (build 26100.2454), so it is probably a bug in Windows 24H2.

Confirmed.

- Configuration > Font: > ▢ Set dots per inch (DPI) to: is unchecked
[but the arrow keys could theoretically be moved to change the default value of: 120 -> Apply -> OK].
- Press button "Cancel"
- cm_FontConfig <enter> in TC command line opens Configuration > Font:
▢ Set dots per inch (DPI) to: is unchecked, but the arrow keys can be moved to change the default value of: 120.

Ultimately, this has no effect (e.g. value: 125), because the next time you open the configuration menu,
the default value of 120 appears again and the option “▢ Set dots per inch (DPI) to: ... is unchecked”

Thanks, it seems to be a bug of the Lazarus scrollbar control - the actual Windows SCROLLBAR control is enabled although the Lazarus TScrollbar control is disabled. This only happens when it should be initially disabled - clicking on "Set dots per inch (DPI) to" to disable the option also disables the scrollbar.

This should be fixed in RC2, please test it!
04.12.24 Fixed: Scrollbar controls were always clickable even when initially disabled (64)

Confirmed fixed in TC 11.50rc2 64-bit. However, the report was not only about 64-bit TC, but also about the 32-version.
Note that the issue only happens when using Windows 11 (perhaps only 24H2?). Only in normal mode. And it happens when using 32-bit TC or 64-bit TC (the latter now fixed).

Code: Select all

This is fixed in TC 11.50RC2 x64 - TC_clean_x64.ini - normal mode and dark mode
This is fixed in TC 11.50RC2 x86 - TC_clean_x86.ini - dark mode

This is NOT fixed in TC 11.50RC2 x86 - TC_clean_x86.ini - normal mode

Sorry, no one said anything about 32-bit being affected, so I thought that it was another Lazarus bug...

No one said anything about only 64-bit being effected. On the contrary, in the third post of this thread I mentioned that I tested with 32-bit and 64-bit.

Not fixed in TC 11.5rc3 32-bit.

And I found another way to reproduce it instead of executing cm_FontConfig. Select menu option Configuration/Options, click category Color, click category Font.
