Roy,
At first I was really disgusted with the whole attitude toward the leaked beta (discussions are not welcome here, bla-bla-bla)
Well, the Beta was spread illegally and neither the author nor the moderators can officially support that. If you were the author of a program that is being spread illegally, I doubt you would welcome discussions about it on your forum where you provide support for your legal customers.

It is like a slap in your face. "Hi, I got this leaked cracked beta, but the thumbnails don't work, what's the matter?"

We did not disallow discussions completely, though.
then you really pissed me off when that other one brutally violated a couple of my messages.
"Brutally violated" - may that be another "slight exaggeration"?
Again, let me make it clear, we only follow the guidelines. Do not blame the policemen for adhering to the law.

If you find the guidelines bad, read the threads where we explain why the guidelines are the way they are. If you have a good counter-argument, present it. We will certainly consider it, as our primary goal, contrary to some's belief, is not to piss people off.
Seriously, I find your performance as moderators inadequate.
I see that.
On the other hand I also see that out of the three people obviously having a problem with the moderators, two did not adhere to the forum rules and have been advised to do so, and one does not like the forum word filter.
You are way too visible here (as moderators).
That is the way we are advised to act according to the guidelines. I already explained why we do not delete posts / threads if not absolutely necessary and why our moderation is "visible".

Present a counter-argument and we can discuss it. Saying "it tends to piss people off" might be true, but does not defeat the argument I presented earlier.

As I said, placing comments is not a pleasant task.
Your interference threshold is very low, and your interference methods are improper.
Both are according to the forum rules and moderation guidelines.
preach inside someone else's message about nature of the universe
It is not the nature of the universe, it is the forum rules, actually.
You are here not to shape the discussion.
Yes we are. If the discussion goes off-topic or breaches the rules we have to moderate it.
Not to filter thoughts.
Certainly not thoughts, but off-topic or insulting posts.
If you want to influence the way a thread is going, get a different nick without the word "Moderator" in it, and then rant your subjective opinion on any subject all you want.
Who is then going to look after the forum rules being adhered to?
But as a moderator, don't touch anyone's message unless you think it is so bad that it absolutely has to be deleted, and if it is, then delete it without any explanation or way of recourse.
I already explained why we do not delete messages but rather post comments, if necessary. If you bring up a new argument that has not been stated before, we will not be moving in circles in this discussion.

You expressed your opinion. I would still like you to present some facts as a base of any further discussion.
Our facts are the forum rules, the moderator guidelines and the posts we have commented according to the former two.

Maxwish, VadiMGP, djk,
We will not close a discussion about (at least partly) moderation if we do not consider it absolutely necessary.

I understand you.
On the other hand this discussion is not only about moderation but also about other non-tc (non-moderation) subjects. IMHO it's the most tasteless thread as I rememeber.

Well, the Beta was spread illegally...
You use your words so lightly. Especially for a moderator. "Illegally". Are you a lawyer? The beta tester who released the program may have violated his contract with the author, but many of those who downloaded it did not break any laws in context their respective local jurisdictions.

No one asked for your support. If you've stayed out of the way that would be enough. That is the primary challenge of being moderator: staying out of the way.

I would welcome technical discussions about my program from any source. But that is completely irrelevant. If someone were posting instructions of how to use this program without a license, that might of been a reason for moderator interference. But it was a regular beta 10a release, which still required a valid license to run, and you should of just stayed away from the subject (as a moderator).

In addition to your moderator nick, not instead of it.

There has been at least one person who broke the author's copyright by spreading the beta without any permission from the author.

Moderators are not moderators because they do nothing and stay out of the way.
But it was a regular beta 10a release
There has also been a cracked Beta 12 release, as you may have noticed.
In addition to your moderator nick, not instead of it.
Maybe. I'd still be the same person, however.
Currently, the "difference" between what I write as a user and as a moderator is being shown by signing either with "Roman" or "Hacker (Moderator)".

I said "primary challenge", not "primary function"...
So hard...

Roman, I wish you luck.

OK, sorry for the misunderstanding. In this case we agreed on making a statement concerning the leaked beta.
Roman, I wish you luck.
Thank you. Same to you.
