I have a (hopefuly) better implementation proposed in this threadSam Zen wrote:6)
In fact anything would be better i.m.h.o. I can't remember ever using this bar.
Normally I close TC once a day, and the X-button in the upper right corner suits me fine to do this.
I suppose this button is still some remains of the model of NC.
Of course it's preferred that this still willl be a function-key.
I checked the keyboard layout and I see no use for F11 or F12. A custom function setting would be nice there.
And, if it's custom, of course the user will have to edit the language file(s) to get some proper bar-text.

Of course you are right, I just want to avoid situation like in MS Office, where you can put button bar everyvhere. You can put main menu everyvhere (did you see main menu of MS Word on left side of its window?Villampiro wrote:just because somebody says he simply wouldn't use it shouldn't be a reason strong enough to not implement a function that a broad group of users would want (and this one, believe me, has been persistently been asked for).

If there is a lot of people asking for it, Chrisitan will accept and implement it as optional (switchable off

Why would you be opposed to this capability? You can put main menu everyvhere
Years ago, when I was a software instructor, I tried to promote what I thought were "best practices"' for gui element (toolbars, menus, windows) placement and use. Big mistake.
Each of us works differently. I know someone who likes the menubar at the bottom of his office applications. I myself like the main toolbar in office apps to be on the left. In TC, I would have a toolbar at the top, a toolbar in the middle, tabs at the bottom, and another toolbar below that.
To each his own and, the more options, the merrier.

The only reason is speed and the size of TC.exe. I am happy it is small and fast.JohnFredC wrote:Why would you be opposed to this capability? You can put main menu everyvhere
Another question is time that Christian has to put into develpoment of such feature. He has to decide if it is worth or not.
