yuit> oh, and while I'm at it, I have another question: is it possible to get the "my computer" folder in total commander ?
Commands -> Open Desktop Folder -> My Comuter
But the "cm_OpenDrives" command is properly what you're looking for.
I just tested the tree mode (never use it) and I cant get this to work in tree mode either. Also if u want fast drive swiching, use the alt+f1/f2 shortcuts.

You need to change the drive in the OTHER window (the one with the files) to stay in tree view mode. Reason: Tree view always goes to the dir/drive of the file list panel. Yes, this is a strange behaviour, but it was requested by many old Norton Commander users...yuit wrote:I like to have total commander in tree view as default, but when ever I press the button for a different drive the view changes to something else.

You're welcome. I assume you know of Ctrl-F8 and the option in Configuration - Options - Display - Tree: Press ENTER to open dir in other window...

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
You should press F1 or click the Help button.but what should I do if there's more than one folder with the same name?
There it says, "Press CTRL+ENTER to move the cursor to the next match.".

Yes, I knew of those. Too bad you can type something like C:\Windows\System32\*.dll to show only the .dll files. Or can you? This time I did look in the help file...Hacker wrote:You're welcome. Well, not quite that way. You can either type cd c:\windows\system32 into the command line or into the Current dir box above the file panels (which you can activate either by clicking on it, or by pressing Shift-F6 when the cursor is on [..], or by executing internal command "cm_editpath=2912;Edit path field above file list" which you can add to the Button Bar or define a shortcut for it) and then pres Ctrl-F12 to invoke a custom filter.
Don't know of any faster/more_efficient way, sorry.
