FTP listing

Post by *marino »

i got a strange behaviour of the ftp client: in some ftp-sites i don't get a directory listing - it just happens in sub-directories. the log file says: "no matches - goobye", but there are DEFINITELY files in that sub-directory. any clue?

Open in main-menu 'Net' and toggle the 'FTP-show hidden files'.

If files are hidden you can't see them without this setting.
Otherwise on some (Netware?) server you can't see any files if this option is set.

Oh, sorry, maybe it does not work for you. I was referring to Total Commander for PC. Have no pocket PC at all.

To show hidden files on the PPC ftp client is a bit tricky. You need to use the built-in registry editor to go to:
HKCU\Software\Ghisler\ftp\servers\<servername>
with <servername> the name of the configured server. There, create a new string value (not DWORD!) with name "showhidden" and content 1 .

This will send the command LIST -la instead of just LIST to the ftp server, to also list files starting with a dot like .htaccess .

Thanks for the answer, but the problem is NOT that the files in the directory are hidden. I just checked it again with the desktop version of TC: There are a lot of files (attribute 600), but TCpocket doesn't show them... :(

Could that directory be a symbolic link? These aren't currently supported, but will be supported in the next version 2.5.
