Thanks for the changes
But:
- Why I must check "Show selection" to be able to change some colours?
- I can't see the 4th description - it's white text on the white background ("Selected Description Text")
- When I call "Color selection" or "Filter" I can't switch beetwen lister and other application with Alt_Tab (I can't see the lister) and Tab does'nt work beetwen TC panels (I can switch beetwen panels with mouse but not with the TAB)
- How does "Recall" works in Filter - it puts the dates (Form and To) as: "1970-01-01" !!!
- When I change "selected backround" it doesn't change in "Color selection" the color of "Selected Description Text"

"Some colors" are colors related to selection. If you don't want to see selection you don't need to set selection colors.

It is happens in consequence of the following bug

I'm affraid it's common problem for all lister plugins. I cannot find any reason in my code and i observed the same problem in other plugins.

Sorry, i cannot reproduce this behavior. Can you give me more information? .ini file?

I also couldn't find it now, but.. I've got it.
- Add any filter.
- Delete it
- Press Recall

Thanks for the changes related to colors. Now they seem to work OK.
Only, while you call the "Color Selection" window the current record changes the background color.

And... in the context menu you have: "colour" and in the "Color Selection" window: "color".

Oh, damn! Word Recall seems to be confusing. It is not recalls deleted filter! It recall saved filter to be applayed! In your case button "Recall" should be disabled. This is the bug.

This is standard behavior when window lost focus. Try place some window over TC or explorer. In explorer you'll see also color changes in selected row. In TC selection disappers at all, but in both cases color restored when window get focus back.

Wow! So nice plugin! Great! I'm going to uninstall NT's native Event Viewer...
But first, some bugs/requests:

1. All categories have two strange chars at the end looking as two black boxes (e.g. "System Event").
2. NT's Event Viewer shows "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" in User column, and your plugin - just "SYSTEM".
3. EventID isn't displayed. And how about displaying numeric values for category (e.g. "System Event (1)")?
4. Date (and probably time also) format isn't taken from Control Panel | Regional Settings.
5. Settings command in context menu is disabled. Isn't it implemented yet?
6. How about making Numbering column (the very first)?
7. IMHO green background color should be a bit lighter because green letters look dim on it. Or even better - customizable colors...
8. Strange initial colum widths: some values are truncated (ending with three dots), so I have to drag column splitters to see all the info. Every time. Strange because Event Type column (e.g.) displays truncated text, whereas Source column is approx 4 times larger than needed. IMHO, it would be cool to set initial column widths to hold the widest value.
9. Ctrl+C - copy selected row to clipboard.
10. And in the end, the most luxurious feature : some event descriptions have tab chars (don't say that I'm going to bring you to your grave with these tabs , remember TCMenu? ). How about making perfect aligning?..

3 - Why?! My goal was exactly opposite - give to user some meaningful information!

6 - I thought about it, but didn't find any way to use it. Number of what? The record in the event file or item in the view? Before or after sorting & filtering?
8 - Unfortunately i cannot set correct column width at start because actually file loading can take long time and currently done in the separate thread in the background. But i can add menu item "Adjust columns" in context menu.
9 - In the next version

I used "1,0,0,4" dated 6.06.2003. Now I downloaded EventLog15.zip from the link you provided and it works (BTW, version tab for EventLog.wlx says it's "1,0,0,6" ... EventLog.wfx is w/o version tab at all).

Probably it has smth in common with bg thread...

14. Not found event is displayed poorly. E.g. [EventID=1000, type=Error, source=Microsoft Internet Explorer, category=None] in your plugin has description "iexplore.exe", whereas in NT's Event Viewer:
"The description for Event ID (1000) in Source (Microsoft Internet Explorer) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s):
iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, , 0.0.0.0, 00000000."

Please, be patient. I havn't NT machine, so it can take some time. On Windows 2000 and XP it is shown correct.

There two different problems. "?" i'll fix in the next version. But confirmation dialog comes from FS-plugin. It is common behavior to all FS plugins. When TC want to download file but such file already exists plugin inform TC about it and TC ask user for confirmation. It is TC's responsibility to delete temporary file after viewing.
